Carrbridge Management provides comprehensive investment advisory and financial analysis services to the asset-based finance, container, and rail transportation industry. In addition to acting as a conduit for acquiring and financing assets, we also provide management services. We work with railroads, shippers, investors, banks, private equity and operating lessors to assist with the acquisition, sale, and financing of rail, container, and other transportation assets.

James H. Magee III
Equipped with four decades of experience in transportation finance and logistics, Jim Magee provides the leadership for Carrbridge Management. For 10 years prior to launching this venture, Jim was part of the senior management team at CAI International, a global transportation and finance company. While at CAI, Jim co-founded and led CAI Rail, a full-service operating lessor of rail equipment and wholly owned by CAI International, Inc. During that time, he led a team of 11 executives as well as related internal shared services with CAI International. Over a period of eight years, he built a $500M investment portfolio and generated $40M in annual corporate revenue. Additionally, he integrated this enterprise into the logistics and container companies under the CAI umbrella.
In addition to his time in asset-based finance, Jim spent 14 years at CSX Transportation honing his skills in facilitating the shipping public’s needs to move freight and the role equipment plays in that endeavor.
Today Jim brings his wealth of knowledge and years of experience to Carrbridge Management. Along with a team of industry experts, he provides a range of services to the rail, container, and asset-based finance industry. With a passion for the business, an extensive network, and a proven ability to execute, Jim provides a wide range of proactive management services. He is hard-working, focused, and responsive. And he has a deep understanding of the financial side of the business. Jim sits on the Boards of The Pattison Companies, Novodia Partners, and The GenFlat Corporation.

Tom Delafosse has 49 years of experience in quality assurance, design, repair, and inspection of railroad tankcars. Over his career he has developed numerous inspection, repair, training, and quality assurance programs.For the last 25 years he has provided regulatory compliance support to railcar owners and repair shops alikethat assists them with any of their AAR or FRA compliance issues.

Jay Suen, a partner at Youngman Roberts Suen, serves as counsel to Carrbridge Management Inc, where he provides comprehensive legal guidance on corporate, regulatory, and strategic matters. With a focus on supporting Carrbridge’s business objectives, he advises on contract negotiations, compliance, and transactional matters to ensure that all legal frameworks align with the company’s interests. Jay brings 20years of experience in corporate law, contract law, and business planning.

Victor Garcia
Banking & Finance, Board Advisor
Victor M. Garcia served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of CAI International, a NYSE traded container lessor. He served in that capacity from September 2010 to June 2020. Prior to being the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Garcia served as the Company’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from November 2006 through September 2010. Since leaving CAI in June of 2020, Mr. Garcia has formed a corporation named Novodia Partners that utilizes his network and experience in the transportation and finance markets to advise and make investments in transportation related industries.

Desmond Hayes

Desmond is a results oriented senior entrepreneurial executive in the consulting, capital equipment leasing and equipment and railroad management. He spent 11 years as a professional chartered accountant in the UK and United States. He was responsible for the largest subsidiary of a Fortune 500 company and the operations of a finance division of Ford Motor Company. Desmond also owned and operated a successful consulting business in the transportation field and financed, developed and managed three successful multi-million-dollar leasing companies.
